Languages
Speech-to-text supports the same languages on the Prerecorded, Realtime, and Turns APIs.
Pass the language query parameter whenever you know the language ahead of time - pinning the language produces better transcription quality than auto-detect. When omitted, the server auto-detects each utterance independently, which is less reliable for short utterances.
Multiple languages
Section titled “Multiple languages”The language parameter also accepts a comma-separated list of codes (e.g. language=nl,en). The server then auto-detects each utterance independently, restricted to the listed languages. This is more reliable than unrestricted auto-detection, but pinning a single language gives the best quality.
